A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

One-button 1-4 players local-multiplayer finger football. Push the button to extend the finger, release to bend, idle to relax. Keep pressed while grounded to roll back-side up. Spam to add forward force. Score 3 goals to win the round.

Blue team controls: blue M, green P
Red team controls: red Q, yellow C

You'll need a QWERTY keyboard to properly play the game, and there's probably some bugs still present, especially physics bugs as almost everything in the game is physics-based. Let me know in the comments if you run into any game breaking issues. The bots aren't too smart and the game is very random by design, so the game makes most sense when played against other players - if that's your thing, and you find the premise of this game any fun, let me know, and I'll try to find the time to develop this further :--)

I played this single player, so didn't get to experience the glorious mayham of pvp, but taking on the bots was super fun :D Personally I find that the bots felt good to play against because the high degree of randomness doesn't make it feel unfair or too easy.

I'm wracking my brain trying to offer some kind of useful feedback but I think in its current state the game is already very polished and fun to play. I guess you could add to the mayham with different properties on the ball, like sometimes it's very heavy like a bowling ball, and other times it's super bouncy like a basketball. Or even add properties to the ground itslef, like make it slippery like ice, bouncy so the ball and fingers bounce everywhere or sandy for the opposite effect. Or even have bumpers on the sides of the pitch that bounce the fingers away if they hit them.

For a little more predictability maybe you could tweak the finger movement to vear towards the ball at all times in some way, or if the ball is within a certain distance. It might let the players feel like they have a bit more agency this way, but maybe this would also take away from the random mayham aspect of the game haha.

Anyway, really cool work so far! I'll be interested to see where you take it :D

Thank you so much! Yes, I agree to all of this, and random round modifiers is the next step I'd take, if I were to continue working on this, and if I got the base game making more sense. It might be just some arena shape modifying that could turn things around (and literally turn the fingers more towards action, too). Adding settings that the players can themselves adjust might be a cool option too, so it'd be up to them to explore and find out, what's fun to them.

Thanks! To continue working on this, I think I'd need a lot better bots (which is hard as the game is so random), or people to more often playtest this with, or more constraint for the action on the arena to make things more predictable. But I'll try to, at least, make this a bit more polished and have the HTML version working, too, before calling this finished :--)
